Aquila Theatre brings a bold and compelling new adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s timeless tale The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Written in 1885 and inspired by a strange and feverish dream, Stevenson created this Gothic horror to expose the treacherous and terrifying nature of a fractured self. Unable to quell his darkest desires, Dr. Henry Jekyll becomes convinced he can separate the good and evil within. Using science, he believes he can sever his two identities and unleashes a terrifying double life through the creation of Edward Hyde. What begins as a daring experiment spirals into a desperate struggle between the two identities, as each battles for control and survival. Which side will win? With Aquila’s signature style—its bold physicality, top-notch actors, and inventive staging—this gripping theatrical adaptation dives deep into the human psyche, asking timeless and urgent questions about morality, repression, and the battles born out of darkness.

Aquila Theatre’s mission is to breathe new life into the classics and to make world-class theatre accessible to all.
